CHICAGO EDITORIAL SHOOT
We are so incredibly excited to be sharing these photos with you! Simply Luxe was lucky enough to be a part of another fabulous styled shoot.
The day started off getting hair and makeup done by the fabulous duo from Elle Salon, Jill and Amanda. The inspiration behind hair and makeup was soft, romantic and very feminine. We wanted to showcase our model's, Jade, natural beauty. Soft wind blown waves finished this look off and gave Jade that "I woke up like this" vibe.
Jill and Amanda killed it in the hair and makeup department. We adore their work and would 100% use them for our own weddings!
Caroline Taafe was our photographer for the day. She has shot countless weddings, proposals, and even has shot a few campaigns for Watters during Fashion Week. She is incredibly down to earth, so sweet and crazy talented.
We started the shoot by focusing on the details. Getting close ups of the hair and makeup and also some of our GORG headpieces from Bel Aire Bridal and DS Bridal.
Our first dress was a stunning ball gown from the brand new Jim Hjelm by Hayley Paige collection. This dress features a sweetheart neckline with a ruched bodice and a dreamy rosette a-line skirt. The 3-D detail of the roses are a romantic touch to a very fashion forward idea.
Shooting these photos in the Gold Coast of Chicago was amazing. The architecture of the building and the quaint feeling of the neighborhood made it feel like you were somewhere other than the bustling city.
Our second look also featured a new Jim Hjelm by Hayley Paige. This a-line ball gown adorned with tons of embroidered flowers features a plunging neckline and a dramatic keyhole back. Everything about these pictures gives us Romeo and Juliet vibes. From the romantic gown to the dreamy dual staircases we are head over heels for these shots!
Look number three is chic by every definition of the word! A high low gown from Rosa Clara paired with royal blue Badgley Mischka pumps gives "city bride" a whole new meaning. We love the textured and airy skirt of the Nevin gown and had a blast capturing its movement in photos.
For look four we moved lake side. Chicagos North Ave beach and pier line were the perfect back drop to photograph Racimo from the Atelier Pronovias collection. The classic lines of the dress with the textured brocade fabric give this dress a really unique feel. We wanted to showcase the versatility of the gown. We started shooting in a city setting with the beautiful Chicago skyline in the back and then moved straight to the shoreline to capture the beachy vibes this dress also possesses. With such a simple dress we wanted to give the accessories a chance to shine! This look pops with gold drop earrings and a STUNNING crown from Maritza's Bridal Veils.
For our last look we were channeling that oh so chic city bride. The elegance of our Raciela gown from Atelier Pronovias was front and center on the streets on Chicago. Heads turned as this gorgeous mermaid dress with a sweat heart neckline and delicate draped off the shoulder sleeves stomped the crosswalk like a runway. To define the waistline and add a pop we added a stunning hand beaded sash from a.b. Ellie.
All in all this day was truly magical. It was such a pleasure getting to work with such talented people! Without their help these photos would not be possible. At the bottom of this post we will have all of the involved vendors listed so you can check out their work!
